MYSQL

An sql database is used to hold the data. This database is implemented using mysql. The database is updated by invoking the sql scripts generated by onewireall.sh.

The mysql command shell was used to create a database :-

mysql -uroot -pxxxxxx

Then at the mysql> prompt:-

CREATE DATABASE house;

The MYSQL Administration tool was used to create a user and to give that user all available privilages the house database.

A table was created within the house database with the script:-

#DROP TABLE HouseTemperature; CREATE TABLE HouseTemperature ( date datetime, Yellow1Study float, Yellow2Outside float, Yellow2OutsideHumidity float, Yellow3Larder float, Yellow4WorkshopLight float, CollectorReturn float, CollectorFeed float, Chip2 float, Chip3 float, WorkshopRoofSpace float, ColdWaterTank float, MainBedroom float, Loft1 float, Lounge float, SolarOut float, SolarIn float, MidTank float, TwixtSolar float, TopOfTank float, GasIn float, TankBottom float, TwixtGas float, GasOut float, ColdWaterIn float, HotWaterOut float, OutsideSun float, OutsideSunV float )

As the 1-wire network evolved it became necessary to add additional columns to that table, this was done from the mysql command line :-

mysql -uuser -pxxxx house

Then at the mysql> prompt:-

ALTER TABLE houseTemperature ADD (solarPipe1, float);

To add a new column named solarPipe1
